Hi, my name is Marlicia Travis and I am the CEO of Life Waves. I am a mother of seven children aged 19, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10 and 8 (December, 2013). My 12 year old is a state ward because his needs were more than I could manage. I spent 10 years with him, growing and learning about mental health and the difficulties a lot of people in this world face simply by not being understood properly. Caring for him was the hardest thing I have ever done. The challenges were consistent 24/7 and I never knew that people with complex problems like that even exist. Well now I do!
I have experience as a piano teacher (25 years privately) and musician (jazz piano, bass, percussion, vocal). I have done some recording and look forward to doing more in the future. Life Waves offers life coaching one-on-one and after next year and more training I will be offering courses in schools and other community places honing in on emotion coaching, life skill development and mental health awareness. I have enrolled as a music therapy student at UWS for the next few years as well so I will be busy. This will be developing my skill set in new ways and helping me achieve some personal life goals in a way that will help others. I will be offering music therapy as well as life coaching and I am looking into Scenar therapy as well for future growth. I love the work of Gregg Braden and see humans physiologically from a cellular level. After watching some studies on sound and the structure of water and sand I have decided to focus on helping people change their lives from the inside out. This includes life coaching, music therapy, Scenar wave therapy, and anything else that focuses on moving people from the physiological being they are now to something even better.
My education includes a Bachelor in Theology (Wesley Institute, 2011), Associate Degree in Music (Wesley Institute, 2011), and Graduate Diploma in Psychological Studies (University of Western, 2013). I am currently enrolled at The Coaching Institute in the Master Coach program (commencing October, 2013) and at the University of Western Sydney (Kingswood) in the Master of Creative Music Therapy (2014-2015).
As a specialist in relationships and human behaviour, I look forward to meeting many new people along the way and helping them discover their assets and live lives that are meaningful to themselves and the world around them. I love helping people and I love to enjoy my life and see others do that too.
